The fantastic movie Labyrinth, contrary to the predictions of analysts and the hopes of director Jim Henson, failed at the box office and wasn’t well received by the critics immediately after its release in 1986. However, the movie has subsequently found many loyal fans and followers; although its creator did not live to see these minutes of glory as this was the last film in his life. Many books, comics, clips, games and works in other genres began to be created based on the film. A new sequel manga Return to Labyrinth was released in 2006. And this, by all accounts, is still far from the decline of the Labyrinth.
The main character is a teenager Sarah, who goes on a journey through a very strange and confusing world to rescue her brother Toby, who was captured by the king of goblins Jareth. She successfully resists the will of the magician, who can turn into a white owl, who, however, secretly falls in love with the girl.
